How Do Cockroaches Infiltrate Your Home?

The exact factors that are attracting cockroaches to your home vary depending on the type of cockroach you’re dealing with, but can include things like:

Grease
Hair
Cardboard
Standing water
Decaying Leaves
Warmth

As the weather cools, they squeeze through cracks in windows and doors and climb through your pipes. Like all creatures, cockroaches need food, water, and shelter. And like most pests, they see your home as a prime source for all of these things.

How Fast Do Cockroaches Reproduce?

In a word: fast. Beyond that, it depends on the type of cockroach:

American cockroaches take 24 weeks to go from egg to adult. Females lay an egg case every few days as adults, each containing 12-16 eggs.
German cockroaches age from egg to adult in 36-60 days. Females lay 4-5 egg cases containing 30-40 eggs.
Oriental cockroaches lay roughly 8 egg cases, each about 16 eggs. They go from egg to adult in about 1 year.
Brown-banded Cockroach females produce about 600 young in less than a year.

Steps to Get Rid of Cockroaches
